The Bitteroots have been a mainstay of the Atlanta music scene for the past seven years, but the bluesy rock and jam band is branching out in 2015. The group has two new cd’s in the works and a more extensive touring schedule that includes a stop Saturday Jan. 24 at Buffington’s in Milledgeville.

Exhibit showcases the art of collecting

Milledgeville, Ga. -- A new exhibition opening this month at Allied Arts will showcase the hobby of collecting by featuring collections owned by area residents, from vintage phonographs to wrist watches with a political theme. The exhibit, "Private Collections," opens Jan. 25 with an opening reception from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Marlor House, 201 North Wayne Street. The public is invited to attend.

Milledgeville, Ga. -- Members of the Milledgeville City Council broke bread with State Senator Burt Jones Thursday during a lunch meeting at the upscale Aubri Lanes restaurant in downtown Milledgeville. The meeting gave council members a chance to chat with the senator about issues expected to surface in this year’s General Assembly, including increased funding for transportation improvements.
