Three days after the Milledgeville City Water Department experienced a malfunction in an intake pump at one of its two water treatment facilities, City officials say a complete repair could take another two-and-a-half weeks. During that time, officials ask that city water customers continue to refrain from all nonessential water activities.

City Manager Barry Jarrett told WRGC that a pump motor in the city’s James E. Baugh Water Plant died Tuesday, forcing the water department to either locate a suitable replacement or commission the manufacturing of a new motor.
