In Summer 2018, Baldwin County's Twin Lakes Library System offers its 80th Summer Reading Club! It's a tradition as old as the Baldwin County public library.
On this edition of Milledgeville Matters, Youth Services Coordinator Sarah Hamil invites the community to help TLLS kick off this annual celebration of Summer Reading. She also talks about the library systems participation in the Seamless Summer Food Program.

General Primary results in Baldwin County mirrored statewide numbers with local Democrats overwhelmingly supporting Gubernatorial nominee Stacey Abrams. Area Republicans greenlighted the rematch between Lt. Governor Casey Cagle and Secretary of State Brian Kemp.


But one down-ballot election solicited considerable surprise when Tabitha Johnson Green won outright the Democratic nomination for the 10th District seat in the United States House of Representatives.

Included at the end of the May 22nd General Primary Ballot is a single question that could put a lot of momentum behind transportation projects in Middle Georgia.

For the second time since its 2010 introduction, regional leaders are asking voters to consider an additional one percent sales tax to fund a list of transportation projects in Baldwin, Crawford, Houston, Jones, Macon-Bibb, Monroe, Peach, Puliaski, Putnam, Twiggs and Wilkinson counties.

In March, Milledgeville affirmed its commitment to the city’s Bicycle Friendly Community status by greenlighting a partnership to build new multi-purpose recreation trails on city-owned property.

Bike Walk Baldwin is the group facilitating this volunteer effort to bring this new trail system to Milledgeville’s westside. But that’s just one part of their larger goal of bringing 50 miles of trails to Milledgeville Baldwin County by 2020.

Artist Ernesto Gomez uses everyday sounds to create compositions honoring place and the relationship between people and architecture.
His newest installation, A Space for Sound, presents an aural archive of Georgia’s Old Governor’s Mansion.
WRGC’s Daniel McDonald talked with Gomez about his appreciation of a Milledgeville landmark.
