Long-time Councilman Richard "Boo" Mullins Jr. Passes Away

Update (27 April 2022): The City of Milledgeville announced memorial services for Councilman Richard “Boo” Mullins Jr.

Councilman Mullins will be remembered in a pair of events this weekend.

Between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., on Saturday, the public can pay their respects at People’s Funeral Home, located at the corner North Clarke Street and Martin Luther King Dr.

And on Sunday, Mullins will lie in state at Georgia College’s Centennial Center prior to a celebration of life service that begins at 1 p.m.

A Spring classic returns to Georgia College’s Front Campus.

On Saturday, April 30, the Georgia College Music Department hosts its annual Jazz Fest in downtown Milledgeville.

Each year, the Georgia College Jazz Band and Jazz Combo join jazz bands from high schools across the region for an afternoon of music in the outdoors under the towering tree canopy of the university’s Front Campus.

On his edition of Milledgeville Matters, Jeanette Waddell, the organizer of Allied Arts Live Storytelling Concert series joins host Daniel McDonald to talk about a day-long festival that features her hometown of Sparta and the people and creativity that make it a destination for the Arts.

Milledgeville Celebrates Inaugural Burger Week

Milledgeville is organizing a week-long celebration of the hamburger.

April 15th through 22nd, 13 restaurants across the community will offer special Hamburger Week burgers in hopes of winning the people’s choice award for best burger.

Milledgeville Main Street Director Carlee Schulte amd  Visit Milledgeville Executive Director Rebekah Snider joined WRGC host Daniel McDonald to talk about what’s in store for this inaugural Milledgeville Burger Week.

Milledgeville Burger Week begins Friday April 15 and continues through Friday, April 22, 2022.
