The ballot is set for this year’s Milledgeville municipal elections.

Three of the six incumbents on Milledgeville’s City Council picked up challengers. The other three, and Milledgeville Mayor Mary Parham Copelan, will run unopposed.

Community organizer Torie Stewart will challenge West Milledgeville Councilwoman Collinda Lee in the first district. Field organizer Jessica McQuain will run against Richard “Boo” Mullins in the fifth district, which encompasses portions of the Leo Court, Carrington Woods and Pendale neighborhoods and the residential area just north of downtown.  And Daisy Childs will campaign against incumbent Steve Chambers in the sixth district, a patchwork of neighborhoods in north Milledgeville that stretch from Log Cabin Road down to the southern tip of Carrington Woods.

City Council members Jeanette Walden, Denese Shinholster and Walter Reynolds qualified for office without opposition.

Municipal elections will take place in Milledgeville on Tuesday, November 2nd.
