Former Milledgeville City Manager Barry Jarrett Passes Away

Milledgeville’s longest serving city manager has died.

According to the Union-Recorder, former Milledgeville City Manager Barry Jarrett passed away on Sunday at his home on Lake Sinclair.

He was 78.

Jarrett served as Milledgeville’s chief administrator for almost a decade between 2009 and his retirement in 2019.

Jarrett’s career with the City of Milledgeville lasted more than 30 years. He first started with the city’s Water and Sewer department in 1988.

Graveside services will take place at 11 a.m., Sunday in the Heritage Memorial Park. Slater’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
