A pair of rezonings and an annexation open the door to a new grocery store in North Baldwin County.
In a January meeting, the Milledgeville City Council annexed an eight-acre property at the intersection North Columbia Street and Log Cabin Road and rezoned two adjoining properties.
The changes allow the development of a shopping center anchored by a grocery store.
The Developer, The Sembler Company of St. Petersburg Florida, has a history of developing shopping centers anchored by Florida-based grocer, Publix.
The site of the proposed shopping center would be directly across Log Cabin Road from the entrance to an existing grocery store, the Kroger.
With Milledgeville City Council’s go ahead, the Sembler Company is expected to break ground on the new development in summer 2022.
